Fir trees, mirrors and a lot of effort and ingenuity were necessary for Jan and Sylvain to realize this huge symbol of infinity on the EPFL campus in Lausanne.

The artwork in the form of the infinity symbol was created in 2014, at the request of EPFL, on the occasion of the inauguration of the Swiss Tech Convention Center in Lausanne.

Thanks to a mirror effect and a complex arrangement of different-sized fir trees, the spectator first wandered along the path created by the conifers to find himself on the Swiss Tech Convention Center’s large patio. From there, he could admire the symbol of infinity which he had just walked through without realising it.

This project, sponsored by the EPFL, required fifteen days of work and used over 150 fir trees which were cut to specific lengths and positioned very precisely.
