This highly original piece of art was created in Zurich in 2012, as part of Swisscom’s Mobiles Aid advertising campaign.
Making two giant portraits of children, easy, wouldn’t you think ? Actually, not at all, particularly if the faces must be made using old mobile phones ! The two artists therefore found themselves in an industrial warehouse in Zurich, sorting old mobile phones by colour. Sylvain then created the work sketch using his talents for anamorphosis and the faces of the two children emerged.
For this project, sponsored by the Saatchi&Saatchi Advertising Agency, the two artists used more than 10,000 old mobile phones and worked for 48 hours. Jean-Christophe Huguenin, draftsman, also helped to create the initial sketch.
